The 35mm Archive
Beginning in 1986, the 35mm archive documents California wildflower landscapes through decades of changing seasons, weather and light. Much of the early work was photographed on transparency film using Canon film cameras, preserving both broad landscapes and fleeting moments within the bloom.
The traditional 3:2 frame became a responsive format for following unpredictable wildflower seasons across deserts, valleys and mountain foothills. Later full-frame digital photography continued that visual approach while extending the archive into the present.
